Lots and LOTS of learning!

A great day in Pre K. Lots of learning, lot of creating, and LOTS of FUN!

I pad Storia Center OPENS today!

Students were given the opportunity to read/listen to stories from e Storia on the Ipad today!

Numbers Everywhere!

Wear clothing with a number on it today! (Note sent home on Monday asking parents to help students find environmental print on clothing.)  The students helped to graph numbers we found on their clothing. Number 1 had the MOST in both morning and afternoon! Thanks to parents for participating in our number exploration. Tomorrow is WORD day. Wear clothing with words on it. We will create a story from the words found on clothing. I will be sure post our stories here on the blog at a later date!

Vet Center Opens today

Our vet center opened today with many new customers...so many sick pets.

Many students enjoyed a game of Candy Land. Lots and lots of giggles were heard from this center as they raced to make it to the top of the game board. Everyone did a great job of taking turns and counting!

Journals & Reading upon arrival.

Checking pets into our new vet center.

The block center served as a holding place for sick animals at the vet center today!

Block building fun!

Here the morning students create a building and tell a story about how the animals and people can get into the building. The boys really enjoyed working together as a team!

Crayon making!

Melting days... the snow is melting outside, the ice in our sensory table is melting inside and old crayons made new with our melting crayon maker! What a great opportunity to explore cause/effect. The students had a blast and could not wait to use NEW crayons to write!!

Students taped together toliet paper tubes. Then sent ice cubes down the chute. The race is on.. and which ice cube will make it down first. Who has the longer chute? Why does it take some ice longer to get to the sensory table? Lots of excitement and learning! We love to explore!

Alphabet Bingo

In a small group setting (4) students drew magnetic letters from a basket. The next step was to figure out what the letter was- and name someone or something that started with that letter.  Then put the letter on a metal cookie sheet. All students at the table found the letter on the bingo board and dabbed it! (All the students had the same board- all in alphabetical order.) When the small group had filled one row- We declared BINGO! All WINNERS! A Success!
